Over the next few days, the seven businesses taking part in the upcoming Central Business District Pop UP Project will be loading into 616 Texas St.
Twine, Baked, Fleur De Crème, Global Images, Megan Taylor Davis, Red I and Le Affine’ Couture will be open to the general public at 10 a.m. Monday. For six of them, it will be their first brick-and-mortar location.
Food will play a big role in Pop Up No. 2. Twine will cater to those who love fresh, creative salads and sandwiches with daily dessert specials. Baked will feature the specialties of Northern Italy, prepared by a native of the country. Baked’s menu will include Galettes featuring mushrooms, spinach, tomato and ricotta cheese, eggplant parmesan, Tuscan soups, lasagna rolls, grilled paninis and a variety of pastry sweets and drinks. Fleur De Crème specializes in homemade ice creams sourced with local fruit and heavy cream featuring flavors such as salted caramel and cookie monster.
On the retail side, Le Affine’ Couture will provide upscale women’s fashion and accessories on a budget, get your custom fedora for men, women and children at Red I, commit your pet to portrait at Megan Davis Taylor Art and show off that portrait in a new colorful LED picture frame from Global Images.
The Pop UP officially opens with a small opening ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday of each week. Special evening and daytime events are scheduled Sept. 26-28.
Special events, coupons, daily specials and more will be posted on the Shreveport DDA Facebook page and at www.downtownshreveport.com.
