LSU Shreveport announced that graduate enrollment totals more than 1,000 students in the various Graduate Degree Programs offered both online and on campus. These programs offer opportunities for advanced training and research in all areas of the sciences, social sciences, business and humanities.
LSUS continues to break new ground in the growing area of graduate studies, most recently by offering a new 100 percent online Master of Business Administration (MBA) and by establishing the Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies, the first doctoral program on campus.
“We are all so happy to see LSUS hit this milestone graduate enrollment,” said Dr. Paul Sisson, Dean of Graduate Studies and Associate Vice Chancellor for Sponsored Research. “It signifies in the best possible way that LSUS is fulfilling its promise to be our region’s premier senior public university. As happy as we are to celebrate this achievement, we actually expect to set new enrollment records for a long time to come.”
Graduate study provides students the opportunity to become investigators in special fields of learning, to broaden their professional and cultural background, and to improve their professional skills and competence. Even though fully online degree programs are a relatively recent addition at LSUS, they have already achieved recognition nationwide. LSUS is ranked 20th in the article “The 25 Best Online Master of Healthcare Administration Degree Programs” by The BestSchools.org.
To help those who have full time commitments (jobs, families, etc.), LSUS took the initiative to create online graduate programs that can be completed in as little as one year. This method has proven successful in various graduate programs, and has allowed graduate studies at LSUS to reach these record breaking numbers.
