The Cinderella Project recently announced its new philanthropic event -- the High Heel Dash on Jan. 11 at Country Tavern.
The High Heel Dash is a 50-yard dash open to men and women ages 18 and older. Competitors will run in stilettos, pumps or wedges at least two inches tall. Costumes are encouraged.
“As Cinderella says ‘one shoe can change your life,’ and that is what we hope to do with our High Heel Dash,” Ashley Busada, Cinderella Project co-director, said in a news release. “The money we raise will help offer young women the opportunity to attend their prom by providing free prom dresses.”
On-site registration begins at 3 p.m., and the 50-yard dash starts at 3:30 pm.
In addition to the race, there will be an after party on the Country Tavern patio. Post dash festivities include musical entertainment by Beaux Atkins, raffle prizes, happy hour specials and appetizers.
Sponsors for the event include McCary’s Jewelers, Counter Culture on Youree, Twisted Root, King Hardware, Holmes Honda, Boomtown, Steadman’s Sports Center, Mama Mia’s and My Spa My Way.
