Rhino Coffee and Holy Angels’ AngelWorks Day Program participants have collaborated to offer community members a new blend of coffee! Community members are asked to vote for their favorite of three blends to determine what will be Holy Rhino Coffee. “Pick your perk” at Rhino Coffee, 721 Southfield Road, this Thursday through Sunday between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Holy Angels is dedicated to providing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a positive, loving environment and a path to empowerment through education, independence, and work. The AngelWorks Day Program provides job training to individuals with disabilities from the community who are age 18 or older.
“We are so excited to be able to join Rhino Coffee in this venture,” Tammy Kennedy, AngelWorks Manager, said. “Andrew understands our mission and the importance of giving our residents the opportunity of work.”
Participants will work to package the coffee that will be sold in local outlets. This collaboration gives individuals with disabilities the opportunity to experience the pride of paid work.Rhino Coffee was established after seeing a need for an independent locally owned coffee house in Shreveport. Rhino Coffee prides itself on a custom made cup, a traditional coffee menu, healthy homemade food, and a warm, comfortable atmosphere.
