The 33rd annual Taste of Shreveport-Bossier will be at 5 p.m. Friday at the Bossier Civic Center, 620 Benton Rd. One of the area’s largest fundraisers, Taste of Shreveport-Bossier benefits the residents and Day Program participants of Holy Angels Residential Facility.
The event features premiere chefs from more than 20 local restaurants who create a sensational culinary experience that is renowned throughout the community. The evening also boasts some of the area’s finest music and art from both the creative and talented members of our region and from Holy Angels’ extraordinary residents, whose artwork is truly exceptional and inimitable.
In addition to the delicious dishes, there is a silent auction comprised of works from Holy Angels residents, regional artists and community vendors all coordinated by this year’s Taste Auction Chairman, Mrs. Kevin Driscoll. The Angel Auction showcases more than 100 pieces of artworks created by Holy Angels’ residents and AngelWorks Day Program participants in addition to nearly 200 pieces of donated artwork from regional artists. All auction and event proceeds benefit Holy Angels, with 85 cents of every dollar going directly toward resident care. To accompany the evening’s festivities, there is also live music provided by the Harmon Drew Super Group, and the Mistress of Ceremonies will be Chrissi Coile Reesby.
“This is a truly incomparable event that brings together members of our community in celebration of the love and compassion that began our journey and remains as the heart of Holy Angels today,” said Laurie Boswell, Chief Executive Officer of Holy Angels. “Not only does this event raise funds to support Holy Angels, it gives our residents the opportunity to showcase their hard work and incredible talents.”
