Hospices in Shreveport and Ruston have announced their participation in the Art of Hospice Competition sponsored by the Louisiana-Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (LMHPCO) and have designated artists to work with them to gain insight into their mission.
The hospices and their allied artists in Shreveport are Hill Cross Hospice, Shonnie L. Streder; LifePath Hospice, Doug Cobb and Willis-Knighton Hospice of Louisiana, Susie Paulovich. In Ruston, Hospice of Caring Hearts is working with Maureen Hinton.
Each artist is spending time learning about hospice and creating art that depicts the mission of hospice and its benefits. In July 2014 a panel of art experts and critics will select 15 works for a traveling exhibition. An additional work of art will be selected by LMHPCO members. The traveling exhibit will visit 16 communities in Louisiana and Mississippi from September of this year to December of 2015.
Artists and others interested in learning more about this project can visit the LMHPCO website, lmhpco.org.
