Children who painted pictures for an Arts in Medicine Alphabet display in the children’s hospital at University Health were honored at a reception Jan. 28. Feist-Weiller Cancer Center sponsored the project, which gave young patients an opportunity to have their work featured in the gallery located on the pediatrics floor. Each piece of art was framed.
Each letter of the alphabet had a medical association, drawn in a kid-friendly style by Feist-Weiller Cancer Center Artist-in-Residence, Julie Burton. Art in Medicine Coordinator Darlene Whitaker said supplies for the project were provided by grants from The Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier and Target.
